Greetings,

Headlights won't flip-up...

Were working fine, then died suddenly.  All fuses check-out and I installed a new motor which came with a new relay.

I've read it could be the light switch but before I run out and buy one (switch) I'm hoping I can get some advice.

Regards,

Dave

Dave,

Sounds like you need to do some testing with a multi meter to see if the switch works. If the switch works the meter will help you trace the electrical gremlin. Throwing parts at a problem gets expensive.  Proper diagnostics save money.

Looks like Brian is doing my job for me. Thanks. Smile

Like Brian says, you need to check things out with a multimeter but there are a few things you can do first. Do the parking lights turn on? If so, do the headlights turn on, even though they do not operate? If so it may not be the switch, but a broken connection to the headlight motor.

Hi Larry,

So sorry I didn't notice your reply sooner (I'll blame it on the Holidays)

Yes, all the lights come on fine and stay lit.  I will check out your broken/unattached wire theory and I do appreciate your advice.

Regards,

Dave

The motor has been fixed - in a way...

The red - blue (rot - blau) #1 wire to the motor is broken somewhere between the fuse panel and the motor.  There was really no good way to tell exactly where the break occured.

The broken wire has been cut near both terminus and a new wire was soldered in place.

The headlights flip-up just fine now.

The multi-meter idea was much better than a new switch!
