- Phokaioglaukos - 05-28-2009 Went to the 24hr race at the Nürburgring last weekend. I'm signed up for the international BMW course in early August that teaches the Ring over three days, but I met a racer who suggested that I try a private day in July first. I'm also looking into getting a British race licence based on my SCCA license. If I can get to a British National A licence it should let me do a VLN race at the Ring. Now that would be cool! (Tell me how crazy this is, please.) - Terry - 05-28-2009 Makes perfect sense to me. What does Bart think? - Darren - 05-28-2009 Sounds like a lot of fun. After the school I think you could race on the track if you took it reasonably easy. I know we were driving 8/10ths when we were there after the school. Though that was on street tires in slow cars -- depends what you're driving I guess! But I think you're missing it a little here! Get the license and race on Spa! - Phokaioglaukos - 09-16-2009 Ok, I might just buy the DVD of the TV coverage of my races last weekend at Brands Hatch. I'm not at the front of the field, just the opposite, but I had a GREAT deal of fun and there was lots of excitement. Even got called to the tower to "chat" with the Clerk of the Course--seems for this series the whole track does not go green after a restart, you have to pass start/finish before overtaking.... Anyway, those were my 5th and 6th races here and I finished all of the cleanly, so time to upgrade the licence to an International C. |
