Being new to Boxsters, I am looking at upgrading the suspension and dropping the ride height a little, is the M30 a good upgrade or Bilstein sports? i have posted the question on a couple of boards and havent had much input.

Thom,

I had the standard suspension in my "01 Boxster replaced with H&R sport springs and Bilstein SP shocks.  This change lowered the car a bit under an inch.   I could feel the difference at DEs, with the car staying flatter in the turns but it didn't give it a harsh ride on normal roads (it was my daily driver).  I know some folks have installed stiffer Bilsteins (I think HDs?) but don't have any feedback on how they feel with normal driving, although they also told me that the M30 felt harsh.  If you're interested, AWE did the suspension change for me and I was very satisfied with their work.

I'd let you try my car but I sold it and moved to France where a new Boxster S should be brightening up my days soon.

Hope this helps.
