I think I am going to go as a guest. I don't think I will get the car back in time to thoroughly test it. Looking forward to the event though!

Hi RTR,

There is a chance I will be getting my 951S back in time for the DE at NJ Motorsports Park (Thunderbolt track) on Dec10th.

Should that happen, I am required to have an instructor (this would be my first DE, previous experiences being some autoX and other driving school).

I would like to find some one who was perhaps planning on going as a guest/spectator, that wouldn't mind going on the track as well.

If I do not get my car back in time, I will be attending as a guest/supporter and would not need an instructor, so I am looking for some one who may be flexible based on this.

I found this handy link:

, so I will be reading that right now.

Cheers!

Hi, Ben!

Now that the holyday party is over, I can think for a few days ahead.  I have talked to a few of the guys going to the Dec 10th event.  There will be guys testing and trying new rides.  Some shaking down their rides before the next race (the following weekend) and some just to get the bug out just before the winter season.  From what I have heard, about 18 cars will be there, very low keyed event where most will be driving in open track time.  No run groups, so you will have a great disparity of drivers and vehicles with different speeds.  The safest way to negotiate this is to be aware of your surroundings while on track, specially in your rear view mirror to give timely point by's to drivers behind you.

I may be down to see my friends and instruct.  If you want, I can instruct you, but we will have to do some classroom instruction beforehand to learn varous things before sitting in the car.

Let me know what is your car repair situation..................

Thanks for the information. I've been watching some videos on point bys and track driving in general. I read the RTR DE manual (37 pages) straight through (learning the flags, etc).

I doubt I will get my vehicle in time, + install the A-tune and pads, but I will meet some good people and maybe sit in a few vehicles. Should be a good time.
