hi guys!

i'm back from the last NASA race weekend of the year;  we were racing at Summit Point (they finished repaving it the day before!!!!).   the new pavement is very fast, and very much to the Probe's liking.  i set a new PTE track record of 1:27.54 during qualifying on sunday, and i am not even sure what my lap times were during the race (i didn't hang around long enough for the printed results).

here is a clip of sat's race;   i had the PTE pole, with the other PTE'ers behind me (all SE-Rs this time).  sat was a standing start (my favorite!!!!).   we had a red flag early in the race (two miatas crashed and rolled over in T10).  they brought us in and regridded us, and then restarted the race.  i stayed in first in PTE, and never looked back:

here is a clip of sun's race;  again i had the PTE pole, with all the PTE'ers behind me (i think we were all within about 3/4 sec).  sun was a rolling start.  again, there was a bad wreck during the race, and we got black flagged all.  this time, it was an nx2000 smashed in T3.  they brought us in, cleaned up, and restarted us.  again, i went wire to wire in first position in PTE! :

entering the weekend, i was second in championship points in PTE;  two wins eeeeked me just enough ahead to clinch the championship!!!!    Big Grin

enjoy!

PS  i was down to the 'dreggs' of my consumables;  the tires were on their 8th day, and i was 'mix and matching' brakepads from my spares box;  autozone street pads, old carbotechs, raybestos, etc.  i'm glad there wasn't a third day, or i'd have been in deep trouble!

Oh come on Todd, we gave you new tires, brakes and a spare engine.  Okay they were Porsche parts, but you always seem to have a hammer to make things fit.  Wink

Congrats.

Nice racing Todd!!!! When I got home I looked at my Acura windshield and thought "yeah, I could have raced with that crack..."

I was out today working on it, new windshield is in now.  I'm getting ready to make a run at PTE next year.  I'll be testing a few things out down at the RTR Summit Point event coming up!!  Jason M has promised to help me with some of the body work, so we'll see if it's true that you can't polish a terd Smile

Congrats to Tom D also!  He took the GTS3 win from pole and set a new track record for that group, a 1:21.7 if I remember correctly!  He was flying and did some great racing, it was a blast to watch!

BTW -- That record was set on BFG R1's!

hi guys!

here are two clips from the second place PTE SE-R;  they are from sunday's race;   the footage is more exciting, because you can see the actual battle going on with me and the Probe (my footage was kinda boring;  just me leading PTE the entire time!   in these clips, you can see i was working hard to stay in front!):

first part of race, before black flag:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSAlZJyXprE

second part of race, after black flag:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTN1vQC_fMk

doesn't my Probe sound freaking MEAN?????    Cool

enjoy, and see you soon at summit!

Great job Todd!

However, I'm not sure I would call the sound of your Probe "freaking MEAN"  Smile  The only car that sounds more like a buzz saw is an RX-7!
