I did.

The offers for the car were out of this world and we are putting all the funds into an addition on our home. I enjoyed my 8 years with her and drove her up and down the east coast from Vermont to Florida. I will get another later in life after the kids are gone. It was time and worth the sale.

Wow! I'm shocked. That was an awesome car and must have been hard to part with.

Ok, Tony. I'll ask around and see what kind of interest there is in the 356s. Good luck with the new addition, and regards to Sharon.

Many thanks,

Maureen

Dumb question here, but if the 356 is a minority car in the club and has minority ownership, then why would it make for a good DG feature?

Wouldn't it be smarter to chose a more popular car like the 911?

What makes you say the 356 is a minority car?

Maureen

The 356 is older, fewer were made, even fewer of them still in existence, and there are more of the newer cars in the region. I think that makes it a minority among the Porsche community under any definition.

Thank you for your input. I"ll continue to ask around and gauge the club's interest.

Please don't misunderstand me, I and many others love the 356, but it's not a car that has widespread ownership.

I was simply suggesting that if you're trying to have a feature that's of general interest, then you might chose a more widely owned car like the 911 that has gone through several generations of evolution.

It's a tough call. According to the RTRs that have approached me about the topic, they feel left out. Their main point is that Der Gasser runs many articles that deal with DE events, which consist mainly of 911s. According to my research, there were about 30 356s registered at the 50th Anniversary party last year. As I said, I'll continue to ask around and gauge members' interest.

I think that a perfect time to feature 356 cars is an article about the 356 Registry 2008 East Coast Holiday this September.  Yes they should have their day in DerGasser but they also have their own organization which is exclusive to the 356.
