Any recommendations on brands of rear speakers to replace what I have now on my 97 993 cab?? I'm not looking to make modifications/cutouts...

Also, looks simple enough to swap them out myself as I have done in prior cars but is there any precautions I need to take?

Thanks as always for all the great advice on this board!Big Grin

Rear speakers?  B & B, Dansk, Fabspeed.

Thanks AMoore, but the pipes already sound great, its the Ozzy that needs to be louder!

ADS or JL Audio if you want to spend.  I have the JL Audio fronts and ADS rears and they work great.

If you want to save some money, get out on the Crutchfield site.  They have a section where you can determine which speaker will fit without any modifications.

And while you're at it, maybe add an amp.......It s a ragtop after all.Big Grin

Really, I had Eclispse speakers in the rear deck of my last 911 (My RSA doesn't have room for rear speakers).  Those were very good.  I had MB Quart components up front, even better.

Both good choices that you mention, but are we going way up the price range?

Thanks for all the names to check out, I appreciate the feedback!  Last part of the question, just the standard 4x6 size??? Anything special I need to know there??
Thanks again!Cool

My RSA came with two storage boxes instead of rear seats.  The prior owner installed a three-way component system with a tweeter up high on the door, midrange down low in the door, and an 8" woofer in each box.  It's waaaaaay better than anything I tried in my '87 -- even an aftermarket rear panel with 6x9" speakers.  It's not boomy.  The bass just seems to go down to zero hertz.

I heartily recommend this route if you don't use the rear seats.
