Winter Limited Driving

I don't worry too much much about it and my car usually sits for the entire winter. The only thing I do after I've gone through the normal stuff at the end of DE season for the winter is make sure the tire pressure stays up in the high 30's to help prevent from flat spotting. Outside that, it stays under the cover until the end of Feb. when I start getting my car ready for the upcoming season.

Well, more snow and ice on the way, hooray! And still no movement on the Cayman. I feel like an addict not getting a fix.

OK, I read these posts and, prior to Thanksgiving, I put some extra air in the tires, had a fresh, full tank of gas, added Stabil, had the car detailed, covered it with a high-quality cover and, dumb-ass that I am, failed to maintain the battery.

Tried to crank it on Sunday and nada, zippo, click-click.  So, I attached my old Harley Davidson Battery Tender and let it work some magic.  Last night, it did finally start after a couple of attempts.  But, when I took a 30 minute ride and stopped for a coffee, I turned the engine off.  Ooops!  I  had difficulty starting it again...but it did eventually start.  (I ate an apple fritter in between prayers to the car gods in the hopes that it would re-start.)  The tender is back on.  So, if I give it sufficient time will it completely re-charge the battery or should I just replace the battery?  This is the original battery from my 2006 997S.

It is probably gone.  I had the same thing happen with my '06 Boxster S.  The Moll batteries are junk.  All it takes is one weak cell (seems to be common on these batteries) and the battery will have no reserve power.
