These events are awesome if you like 356's. The last East Coast 356 Holiday I attended had over 400 356's. It is a surreal sight.
Details:
It is now official; the 2008 356 Registry East Coast Holiday will be
held in our area. Bruce and Martha Baker, Bob and Marcia Laepple, and
Eric and Esther Wahlberg put together a proposal to the Registry and
heard last week that they were the successful team. Mark your (next
year's) calendar for September 4 - 7. The main hotel for the event
will be the Eden Resort in Lancaster. The event theme is Trains,
Planes and (356) Automobiles. There will be a Friday ride on the
Strasburg Railway with dinner at the Pennsylvania Railway Museum; and
the Concours will be held on Saturday at the Grimes Airfield (antique
and vintage planes). There will be drives in Lancaster County
including covered bridges and country roads. There will be the usual
goody store, swap meet, and, if scheduling allows, a literature and
memorabilia sale. The master of ceremonies for the banquet dinner
will be Prescott Kelly, the president of PCA and a looong time
356er. Somewhere in there will be a technical session and a lot more
activities.
