- bobt993 - 10-15-2010 I just received in these new cameras with built in DVR to support data logging systems. I new they would be small, but look at the one next to a compact DV Sony. - steveh - 10-15-2010 Just picked up a re-play myself. Easy to use, easy to transfer files, really stable, clean images. My only disappointment is the audio -- I have it mounted on the roll bar just behind where a passenger's head would be (so far, that seems to be the most useful view) and even with the solid rear cover it picks up a lot of wind noise from the passenger window. - bobt993 - 10-15-2010 Steve, try taping a thin piece of Klenex over the over it to reduce wind noise. - steveh - 10-15-2010 Kind of like a "spit screen" on a vocal mic. Great suggestion, thanks! - JoeP - 10-16-2010 I encountered the same wind problem on my camcorder, Steve, and installed a separate $30 stereo microphone on my center console just in front of the shifter: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/664439-REG/Audio_Technica_ATR6250_ATR6250_Stereo_Condenser_Video_Recording.html It now tapes with no wind noise at all, the sound is much better, and the stereo separation is a little eerie at times. - ccm911 - 10-18-2010 Are you sating that that little tube can do everything that the larger camera next to it can? If so, technology has certainly come a long way. Very impressive. - bobt993 - 10-18-2010 Chris, in some ways better more stable image. The 720p version is coming out. - bobt993 - 10-18-2010 Steve, also check which end cap you have on the unit. They have two one for louder noise environments the other for quiet applications. Slide some tissue behind the cap in a thin layer. - Mark Fox - 10-21-2010 Correct, they come with two end caps and the race video's I have listened to sounded great. I bought one a few weeks ago, but the USB wire is not being picked up by either of my 2 computers. - ccm911 - 10-21-2010 Make sure your USB ports are operable. I have a bad one on my home PC and it drove me nuts when trying to hook up an external drive. I never realized that they have little green lights to tell you whether or not they are functioning. |
