Safeautoglass butchered a windshield replacement on my 993. Workmanship was TERRIBLE. I took pictures of the butchered install, sent them to my insurance agent and demanded to take it to a dealer. The pictures were enough to convince them. Took it to Brandywine, and my insurance company paid the $1200 pricetag.

The car also returned from the safeautoglass shop with 3 door dings.

Hope you have better luck than I did.

Jack

I know Bob, all I was trying to do was give the guy a little bit of advice from someone who deals with this type of stuff all day long. At the dealership I work at here in Washington, D.C. I get to see the results of a shop that has gone through one of my clients' cars and they bring it to me to clean up the mess or they will call me while being pulled around by their insurance company asking for help in dealing with a problem. I just didn't want him to have to go through the same thing, that's all.

I would have gladly paid the full amount myself because I knew that I was getting the correct windshield and the install was going to be correct the first time. 3 years later, still no windnoise and no water leaks.

Pete,

I have had success with non-Porsches at Conshohocken auto glass.  Good work and very reasonable price.

UPdate. Window is in, its does not leak and no new cracks Smile.

However, They used some kind of Windex like aerosol, Heavily!!!, as a lubricant and that got on the paint (non clear coat) causing stains....

I just washed car, cleaned paint and waxed, stains are still there...but then again, the wax stains the paint if you dont rub it on fast enough.....
