- TwentySix - 10-24-2006 Wayne, I would have never guessed you to be a bling-bling kinda guy, but those headlight covers should have tipped me off ![]() As soon as the salt trucks hit the road, most of our cars will be garaged until spring, going from full coverage to storage insurance. the brood '70 Porsche 911t w/3.2L '89 Porsche 944 Turbo '94 Audi RS4 clone '79 Audi Fox GTI '77 VW Rabbit SCCA FSP '84 VW Rabbit SCCA GTL #23 '69 Morris Mini Cooper '06 F250 Crew Cab Turbo Diesel - Wellardmac - 10-24-2006 I'm not that way. As for the headlight covers, well, they were done by the previous owner, but who's going to complain about Gemballa modifications when they're already on the car? I'm actually a traditionalist and don't like modifying things too much, but will go for improvements. I'm probably running out of things that I'm going to do to the car.... maybe new rims in a few years, may modifiy the chip to compliment the improved intakes and exhausts. I'm currently looking for mild interior modifcations, but nothing too severe.... I'm considering an aluminum rear center console, but am still on the fence with that one. ... as for insurance, it actually cost me more to remove my insurance over the winter than keep it... pretty weird. I can't complain considering that I'm paying $1200 for the year for 3 cars. - Wellardmac - 10-24-2006 Okay, who's car is sunning itself in Florida?!?! - Tony356993 - 10-24-2006 The 993 is getting some well derserved TLC @ Dougherty's over the winter. I think of it as a 60-90 day Spa visit. New aux cooler, giant brembo floating rotors, brake ducts, engine work....... The 997 is still not over the breakin miles (cough and cold season you know) and will not see the road post salt. The 356 loves this cool weather. She will get worked hard before the 1st salt then rest nicely with her cousins in the heated garage. - Brian Minkin - 10-24-2006 I am sure her Boxster will see some salt and will get a few good baths including undercarriage wash with a power washer. My 911 will reside in the garage and will probably receive a brake upgrade sometime during the winter. Since the 3.6 went in and I have been working on braking later on the track I find the braking just a bit twitchy (like I scare the crap out of my self sometimes) so the pursuit of faster lap times says better brakes are needed. Since all my wheels are 17's now big reds will fit. Please Santa! - ZBlue996Kam - 10-24-2006 Mine will be on the road provided that there is no snow or ice. Drive it every chance I get, track or not track. - Mike Andrews - 11-24-2006 Putting a smile on my face....... - Wellardmac - 11-24-2006 Mine will probably get washed and put away this weekend... after that the only time it will leave the garage will be when it goes to Holberts to have the aero kit installed. - pmajka - 11-27-2006 If its dry, Watch me fly! Fresh Snow, watch me Go! Fresh Salt, watch me halt! Fresh Ice, stay home and have a beer. - Tony356993 - 12-14-2006 what a holiday gift. 60 degrees this w/e - the new and the old will both get a workout this w/e - after work of course. |
