On the serious note evident in this thread, the WSIB policy covers DE, not racing. Autocross is actually racing, even though there is only one car on the course at a time and the only thing one SHOULD be able to hit are orange traffic cones. That said, the cup car in the photo Bob posted hit a number of parked cars at an autocross. Bad course design and bad driving both, but it happens (if not that often). I think there are MANY more incidents at DEs than at autocrosses, but any time the nut behind the wheel is loose stuff happens. Depending on the value of the car one DEs a WSIB or similar policy might make sense. Able instruction from Bob and the other Riesentöter instructors is the BEST way to learn the skills that will keep you out of trouble, on the track and the street.

I get track insurance for each event from Chris Maume's outfit.  Prior to the last event at Thunderbolt, it seemed that most accidents were the result of driver error (which is still the case I'm sure).  At Thunderbolt, however, there were three incidents which I believe were beyond the drivers' control.  We had a brake failure, a hub break, and a wheel break.  Bottom line . . . sh*t does happen.
