Todd, I can't tell you how much I appreciate you putting up the vids. I often watch the ones you put up. I know watching them is helping my driving, it makes me want to get more & more seat time. Now the long winter begins...good thing for iracing.com

hi mike!

thanks for the kind words!  and winter will be over before you know it (there will be a NASA race and DE at VIR Full Course in Feb!!!  Smile  ).  i was just perusing through 'MyLaps', which is the computer system that records all the timed laps from my AMB transponder -- really neat software to look through after a race, and see how the performance and consistency was during the battle! here is the lap chart for me during the one hour sunday race:

its interesting to look at the chart;  i am a pretty 'fast starter';  i am comfortable running very hard on cold tires, which some folks have a problem with.  if you look at the chart, you can see that after the start, i was immediately at a 1:28.0, and that was when all 5 of us were fighting with each other and swapping positions.  for about the next 10 laps, i was pushing at about 10/10ths;  and once i got to the front of our pack of 4 tin-tops (me, the red bmw, the white bmw, and the dark miata) i was able to put my head down and just DRIVE very hard;  lap 5 thru lap 9 you can see this -- 1:27.4, 1:27.3, 1:27.1, 1:27.1, 1:27.1.  i started to ease up just a touch for a while, as i had nice lead (still keeping it mostly in the 1:28s;  depending on traffic).  then, the full course yellow came, and bunched us up tight again for the restart....  i immediately ran very hard again (survived the melee spin in T3, and then ran a bunch of fast laps - 1:27.3, 1:27.4, 1:27.3, 1:27.1, 1:27.1 ).  you see, the miata was the only of the 'real fast' tin-tops back behind me;  he got thru the T3 melee clean, and was about 5-8 car lengths back.  i ran at 10/10ths again, because i could see he was desperate to close on me, and if he got close enough, he'd use my big ass probe as a draft, and then try to get me in the tight stuff!!!  i couldn't let that happen, so i stood on the ole probe HARD!   you can see in the lap chart that i then backed it off to mid/low 1:28s til the finish (with an occasional slower lap due to heavy lap traffic).  i was able to relax, because the miata made an error and fell off in a big way;  he went in two laps early (not sure if he broke something, too?).  anyway, its really neat info to look at and go over;  on the website that hosts the info, you can even compare yourself to another competitor, lap for lap.  neat stuff!  enjoy, and see you soon at a track near you!  Smile

Todd, too much caffeine!! Put the cars away for a couple of weeks and watch Wheel of Fortune at night.Smile    Looks like a good end to the season.  Despite my injector issues, it turns out the throttle cable was incorrectly installed into the cruise control clip (60% throttle max).  So I am going over the entire car.  Hope to get a track day in or two before  Nasa Feb VIR event.

hey bob!  its good to hear that you figured out what was going on with the 993;  now that you have fixed your injector problem, and corrected the throttle cable -- now you should have a nice smooth dyno curve!!!  Cool   and NOW you can go to town on those M3s!!!!
