I only work on older 911s.  The 944 seems like it is all the expense of a 911 with less speed.Big Grin

Ha!  I knew, maybe you mis-read the posts.  I'll talk Fords and Chevys with you anytime.

It might have been said more delicately, but the feedback has been "If it was MY car, I would have a professional fix these problems."  Coming from a couple guys who know what they are talking about, that seems like the best possible advice to me.  More than once, I've had a car scattered all over my garage for months because I tackled something over my head.

Chris the older 911's are way easier to work on, working on a 944 on the other hand is like trying to drive a Model T I doubt any body in the club can drive one.

Lighten up Francis....
Actually I was being serious. It's a lot of work to do the belt and if it were me I'd consider running without the belt. My 944 turbo has the shafts in place but no belt. For a track car the balance shafts are definitely unnecessary. For a street car which sits at constant RPMs it might be a different story, but I don't think it would be that annoying. I'd research that though.....

Can anyone recommend a good Porsche repair shop in the Pottstown/Phoenixville/Reading area to replace the cam and balance belts?
