Sorry I missed Planes and Porsches and the Corvette Club. Can't make the BBQ either, but should be in for Dover. I put in a short shift kit, but I'm still getting used to it. Need all the practice I can get. Mark - Craigs*84 - 09-02-2011 I should pick up my transmission from Specialty Cars next week ... And if i can get everything put back together with no problems ...ill be at both events. With the eye of the tiger.. - tamagee - 09-03-2011 Pocono will be my first AX. Hopefully I won't embarrass myself too much. Any quick tips for a newbie? Terry - Vytenis - 09-03-2011 Terry don't worry, you won't embarrass yourself. You'll just have fun. Latch onto someone more experienced. Get an instructor to accompany you. "V" - betegh9 - 09-04-2011 tamagee wrote: Quote:Pocono will be my first AX. Hopefully I won't embarrass myself too much. Any quick tips for a newbie? Terry, welcome to the AX group. AX takes more skill than road racing, thus experienced autocrossers make an easy transition to track...... unlike the other way around. AX is fun, COMPETITIVE and lots of comoraderie. - tamagee - 09-04-2011 Is anyone staying near the track Friday night? I'm not really interested in having to leave around 4AM to get up there. Suggestions on a good place? - betegh9 - 09-05-2011 tamagee wrote: Quote:Is anyone staying near the track Friday night? I'm not really interested in having to leave around 4AM to get up there. Suggestions on a good place? I am staying in Jim Thorpe..... a bit further than you'd want. the Blakeslee Inn is a typical track stay over, or you can pay more $$$ at the Best Western at Rt.80 and 115. If you wana go EL CHEEPO, I believe there is camping on the track itself..... You can wake up just before tech. I have done this a couple of times when I knew that the weather was going to be dry. I slept in the open with an air matress in a sleeping bag while the night temperature went down to 55 in July...... One of the best night sleep I have had after a track party (no drink and drive) - CarreraSupercharged - 09-07-2011 For similiar reason as the BBQ gathering, I will not be able to attend the Pocono AX,.. too bad it sounds like fun to be in 3rd,...:dude: I will be in Hershey and hopefully in Dover as well. Then after that is serious surgery for Blueberry,... she will go under the knife for some body adjustment and possibly on a weight loss program. |
