I think trying to create an overly complex system with multiple factors does little more than confuse everyone. You're the boss big J, but you could save yourself a lot of time and headaches. Not to mention you wouldn't have to keep defending yourself on the forumUsing the SCCA handicap system was my original thought as well... but that one is pretty complicated and confusing as it is... I'll get to work on figuring it out. - Vytenis - 06-14-2012 The SCCA PAX system does not have enough precision. Except for old 356 models and newer (993 & up) & turbos, every stock 911 is one class (same PPF). http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/assets/2012%20SCCA%20Solo%20Stock%20Category%20Classifications%20By%20Manufacturer%20-%20May.pdf Also does not account for tires. You can bring bubble gum tires and have the same PAX (PPF). "V" - betegh9 - 06-14-2012 V is right. Porsches are bunched up in one class or two. You have to look at large PCA regions and see what they have done. NNJR has kept AX results from many years, so they have worked out their own PAX based on many factors. I believe that we have an event planned to join them this season at the New Jersey Giant's stadium. I would like to see a,comparison of our results with our PPF as well as NNJR's system and see if the RTR group ranking fall in the same order. - arena - 06-19-2012 betegh9 wrote: Quote:V is right. I did not want to look like the drug pusher, but this is what I have been preaching for in the last 2 years. Their PAX works........ unless one is a terrible driver that needs SEAT TIME to get better. In my first AX a few years ago, I DNF'd all my runs. So, if I could do it, anyone can. - arena - 06-21-2012 betegh9 wrote: Quote:Wow! finally someone actually looked up the NNJR PAX. In the off-season this winter, we should all get together and discuss all of these ideas. - Vytenis - 06-21-2012 Nick, what is your PAX in the NNJR system? Figure out Hershey's event with NNJR rules and see where we all fall in comparison. - Vytenis - 06-21-2012 OK, help me out. Looks like my 1987 911 3.2 with modifications falls into the P3 class. Above Showroom stock, but below Improved. I don't see any P PAX. What's my PAX? "V" - betegh9 - 06-22-2012 Vytenis wrote: Quote:OK, help me out. What's my PAX?V, I believe that you would fall in the S4 category, not SS, whose PAX IS .922. to be competitive, you would want to do the maximum what is allowed in he class and use the best tire possible allowed. |
