Has anyone used a digital camera with an MPEG feature and a 4 gig memory card? There are virtually no moving parts or rotating discs that vibration would harm.
I am considering using a pocket type camera with vibration stabilization feature. Do you guys think that this would work?

I had a buddy try and use a camera like this and the camera would shut off on the track due to vibration. It was a safety feature built into the camera. Due your homework 1st.

many of these cameras will not record video onto the memory cards.  I tried this with my camera (and even checked with tech support).  Most cards don't have the ability to adequately record video - something about the transfer rates.

So, I have a 1GB card that can only be used for photos.

I have a sports camera by Samsung that's like what you describe. It uses a remote lipstick camera. No better than all the other ones except it's little and lightweight. The remote camera stopped working last season so I sent it back and had it fixed. Raised hell so they fixed it for nothing which was just lucky. I don't recommend it and wouldn't get it again. I would look into a motorsports oriented system.

McMorn and I have have regular cameras to record AX. Check out my website and you'll see some videos posted from last season - it works great!

I know about that. Memory sticks, pro duos come in 2 versions: Regular, and high speed. Sony proffessional independent reviews explicitly say that the high speed should be used for that purpose so that the transfer in quwick. Of course, these sticks cost more than the regular ones.
