Todd's looking for gravel lines, but the blue bushes are going to be in the way. yeah, no gravel at WG!!! a few dirt 'poof's maybe, and i like the extra room to track out on the exit of T1!!!!! honda hasn't been up there for a LONG time; ran 2:13s with it last time, i think. Probe is around 2:18s. the civic has been seriously lightened and tuned up VERY strong for the Grassroots Ultimate Track Car Challenge (the 'vote for me!' thing i sent around!); i've been chosen as one of less than 40 throughout the country to compete there; and i intend to try my darndest to show well!!! i will be EXTREMELY disappointed if the Honda can't do better than 2:10s now (assuming reliablity!!!). and i have instructed with the BMW guys a few times; not in the most recent past, though...... todd - Phokaioglaukos - 07-11-2007 Hope there is not too much rain there for this event. The weather forecast is not so good. Summit Point this weekend with Potomac. It's bumpy and it's not the Glen, but its closer and the weather forecast looks good. Hoping for good weather at the end of the month at the Glen (and finding it hard to wait). - Tony356993 - 07-11-2007 Quote:'if it were the car, or the driver'If I already know it IS me, can I get a discount? - fasthonda - 07-12-2007 Tony356993 wrote: Quote:Quote:'if it were the car, or the driver'If I already know it IS me, can I get a discount? sure!!!! ![]() just got back from WGI; a great two days; only a little bit of rain in the evening of wed; just enough for me to put on the intermediate tires and go have fun! (til the windscreen fogged so badly i couldn't see!!) the rest of the time was beautiful; i was fighting teething problems; car would overheat after 3-4 laps, and the tune on it was terrible; only pulled cleanly from about 6100 to 8000; very narrow powerband; below 6000 was skipping and puttering and surging; really tough to drive..... but.... its going to be an absolute rocket when i fix all the teething problems!!! gotta get the big rad installed before end of this month's VIR shootout; and gotta get to the dyno and straighten out the tune!!! if the car survives the VIR thing, i should have it up at the RTR Glen event in Aug; otherwise, it'll be Probenstien again! todd - bobt993 - 07-12-2007 Weather was excellent considering....... End of DAy 1 rain last session for Beginner students, but otherwise pretty dry. Pace was pretty varied in instructors group with some passing in odd places (Tom and I were running together and managed a pass in tandem up the essess). Very minor incidents. The weld was defective on the replacement shifter again (B&M at its finest). I bonded it with epoxy a gingerly shifted the car using only two gears per lap. I was still above pace, but it would heat up after 3 laps and the bond would break (then limp back to the pits). - ZBlue996Kam - 07-12-2007 Man, I am jealous! I have not been driving the Glen for two years now. Damn work. Can,t wait to run the Glen with my corrected camber setting. - Terry - 07-13-2007 What a great two days! No rain (for us, anyway), not very crowded track, and learning how to drive this car at (for me, anyway, speed). I can't believe how much better it feels to be the passer rather than the passee. Except for Dymant... but give me some more seat time and tires... - Phokaioglaukos - 07-13-2007 Nice avatar, Terry. Tell more about the car! - Terry - 07-14-2007 Hi Chris. Would you believe I took that picture for my avatar? OK, I filched it from the Porsche website where its available as wallpaper. The car is great especially at that track which is all flowing corners. It doesn't like slow, tight corners, which the Lotus would eat for breakfast, but on the power, oh boy... but you already know all of this. |
