Thank you for the response!  I have a 1989 911 Cabriolet.  I have been doing some additional research on these events and found out I would need to install a roll bar in order to participate in Driver's ed.  Because of this, I will most likely hold off on those events, however would love to get starting doing some auto cross events.

I have seen some of the SCCA events locally, I know there is one in Warminster this weekend, however I do not have a helmet yet and I will be at the Radnor Concours on Sunday.  I also know of the event from this post.

I have a drivers license and I will have to do some shopping for a helmet.  Hopefully someone can post some of the local stores, so I can at least try to find out my size before purchasing one.  I will check out helmetcity.

I have been to a few track events, but only as a spectator.  My fater is a car collector and has been to many ferrari club events as well as some SCCA racing events.  He is one of the reason I purchased my porsche.  I will be at the Radnor concours this weekend with him and his Porsche on display.

I look forward to getting more involved with the PCA over the next couple of months, years, etc.  And I hope to be able to make it to the different events held locally.

Anybody registered yet??

- Wellardmac - 09-14-2006

nah, I figure I'll register on the day.

what time getting there??

do you know what class we'll be - easy to look up but figured ask first - ig PM session, do we need to arrive at 8am????

- mikehoyer - 10-03-2006

AM and PM sessions are operated as two seperate events.  If you are running in the PM session you don't have to be there for the AM session and vice versa.  The PM session has it's own Tech/Driver Meeting/Everything.

Cool! In that case I'll be there for the am event, as I figure that I really should be around to celebrate my son's birthday. Smile

Don't think it's that simple - looking at registration page, it says

Run Format: BA-DC

Morning Groups:
Heat 1 - FS, GS, HS, PRO, All Mod Classes
Heat 2 - STS, DS, STS2, STX2, STU, Ladies, F125, Karts (Note: No karts in NJ)

Afternoon Groups
Heat 3 - SS,AS,BS,CS,STX,ES, All Prepared Classes
Heat 4 - SM, SM2, ASP, BSP, CSP, DSP, ESP, FSP

Can't find which groups 996 or 997 will go into (but gonna ask to go into Novice anyway) but it seems to me that AM and PM are different - based on all of the initials above - will pm Elizabeth to ask to clarify

... either way, get a lie in or to watch the eagles game ... but can't have both!

Bugger!

Here are the car classes:

Looks like the 996 and 997 is SS, which falls into the afternoon session.

I read this page

http://www.phillyscca.com/solo2/flyers/2006/supp_rules.htm#run_groups

and it's not clear to me if all groups run in a session, or only certain groups fall within a session - maybe Elizabeth can clarify.

Additionally, I read the run group order to be CDAB, which would be the reverse of what you listed above.
