HHO, that is what it is called or Brown Water. I am going to be adding an HHO setup in my Expedition in the comming weeks or so. 20+ MPG in the city is what I am shooting for. Very possible to do with with my hand held Predator and the HHO maker installed. Highway milage maybe in the 30's. If it works as planned I will do my Rover and then the Mustang. I will keep you all posted as to the outcome.

Be very careful with the adverse affects it causes to engine components. My brother installed a system on his car and it did improve mileage and performance. He removed it after the visible damage he noticed from inspecting the top end of the car. The cause is needing a neutralizing agent to move the Ph level to more neutral. He put alot of time ( he was furlowed as a pilot for 6 months) into the research/development. I will check with him as to any progress on his system.

You can add baking soda to the water to adjust for the PH levels. It will take some time to fiqure out the exact formula as every engine has different needs.

OK, time for a philosophical response to Chris' original rant. This is not about possible technological solutions although there may be many. It's about what we think this country is all about.
I just saw a preview last night for a new movie starring Bill Maher which lampoons religion, in which there is a clip of the president saying, in a stupid and simple-minded way, that he believes that God wants all people to be free. Everyone in the theater laughed, including me. And yet, if he had said something like, " I believe that all men are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, among these being life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" everyone would have nodded in solemn agreement.
I'm not saying I believe in God, but I do believe that our country was founded on the belief that each of us is entitled (that is, has an inalienable right) to be free. And that freedom guarantees that the government does not have the right to say that Chris can't ride a Ducati or drive a Porsche, any more than it can say that a soccer mom with one kid can't drive a Suburban if she can afford the gas.
In legal products, we let the market decide, and the market consists of hundreds of millions of individual decisions made by free men and women. $4.50 gas kills SUV sales - you don't need a decree to make that happen. But decrees, even by well intentioned people, always hurt someone and have unintended consequences. Our system is designed to minimize such decrees. And that is why a rant for the government to step in and save us from ourselves is, in the short and the long run, the worst possible solution to this major, but likely temporary dislocation. Even if gas stays where it is for a while, Americans will adapt. GM may not survive but someone will step into the breach. Do not throw out the baby with the bath water.

Good points, Terry! Actually, I think you are right about the market taking care of SUVs in the guise of $4.50 gas.
While I fully agree with your take on government intervention, it does seem that we will need to take some steps to level things out. The amount of greed shown over the last few years is more than distasteful. It has crushed our middle class, moving us closer to a nation of haves and have-nots. I really don't believe that is what the founders of our country had in mind, though.
This upcoming election should prove to be a real three-ring circus.

Perhaps a one million percent tax can be placed on guns to decrease the amount purchased; thus, decreasing the amount that fall into the wrong hands. Then, the laws of economics would follow their course. Does the constitution prohibit a 6% tax on gun sales?

Maybe it does. This is the cigarette model, also used for alcohol - discourage consumption by taxing the shit out of it. Isn't very effective and substitutes government fiat for free choice. Not my ideal.
