"Public Health insurance?, No Way, that would be socialist". "Help a poor person to get a leg up to provide for his family?, Hell no, this is a capitalist society, he should pull himself up by his boot straps"."Fellow human beings" I don't know what this means. My dog is way more important to me than many people out there. In fact, any dog is more important to me than many people out there. The chemicals that make up a human being mean nothing. How people contribute to society means everything. - AMoore - 08-19-2009 ccm911 wrote: Quote:dmano wrote:I'd like to thinkg that this would not be the case unless the stadiums generated tax revenue in excess of the tax contribution.Quote:Don't get me started on pro sports. However, I have to comment on how many people speak up with strong feeling against dog fighting but are mysteriously quite when it comes to abortion. Is the reasoning behind this really a mystery to you? Regardless of the different positions as to this issue, I think everybody recognizes that those who are pro-choice do not believe that life begins at conception. I imagine that is why they might speak up in opposition to dog fighting, dog electrocuting, and dog hanging, while not voicing an opinion against abortion. Aaron, It just amazes me how personally people take dog fighting and are quick to speak up. I could draw the same point about the popularity of horror movies/television and how desensitized our society is.....until you mess with Fido. - George3 - 08-19-2009 .... - AMoore - 08-19-2009 APXD 30 wrote: Quote:AMoore wrote:I agree on that point. I guess we all have our lines that we don't want crossed. I'll admit that I am a dog lover and I am horrified by Vick's conduct, yet I eat beef and pork, and I don't even want to know what goes on in the slaughter houses.Quote:APXD 30 wrote:Quote:I'm not a big football guy and I agree with the lot of you. Everyone can believe in what they want, but when someone tries to force their beliefs on others, the line has been crossed? Simple. You can be Pro-Choice or Pro-Life. Great. Believe what you want, but kindly do not force your beliefs on me. Dog fight or no dog fight. Pick your side, but do not try to force me to live by your beliefs. Carnivore or vegetarian. Take your pick, but do not try to force me to live by your beliefs. Anyone see a pattern here? - catchacab - 08-19-2009 ccm911 wrote: Quote:How about this. When is it appropriate to cross that line? - ccm911 - 08-19-2009 Never. - ccm911 - 08-19-2009 And why have I not been reading new "From the Tailpipe" columns??? - dmano - 08-20-2009 Life begins with the first smack of the ass waaaaaaaaaaa |
