the only thing I need is a wheel to make these games more life like. The control for xbox360 has you understeering and oversteering through every corner. But it is the controller. SO when I get a wheel my nephews are going to get there butts kicked. Having these games does make you the  coolest uncle so be advised if you get them they are going to get use when you have kids over.

I have a Momo force-feedback steering wheel with pedals and shifter.  It works pretty well for a $100 unit.  It was a ton of money to get anything signifiacntly better when I bought it 18 months ago.  I have not kept up with recent offerings, but "Grassroots Motorsport" magazine advertises all sorts of more sophisticated hardware.

Is that Momo wheel for the Playstation or the Xbox?  I have the old Logitech Driveforce Pro for the Playstation -- it was actually from Playstation 2 days but it still works pretty well.  For the Xbox I have the Xbox wheel which is a little nicer.

As far as I can tell, the Momo is only for a PC:

They offer different (basically equivalent) models for different game systems, they are just not called "Momo".   I was completely happy with my wheel until about three minutes ago when I saw the newer G27:

It works on a PC and Playstation.  It has a much more substantial wheel, more sophisticated feedback mechanism, better shifter, and a clutch pedal.  Unfortunately, it is three times as expensive.  ...sounds like brake upgrades.  The ones you want are always three times as expensive.

A clutch pedal on a game is silly IMHO.  Clutches are all about feel.  I'm happy to have everything have a sequential shifter and drive with 2 feet.

The G27 has a sequential setup option using either the shifter or paddles on the wheel.  I have been looking into this for several months and have decided that PC subcribing to IRacing is the way to go.

Bought the wheel that goes with xbox set up. Wow what a difference. The wheel has good feed back. The gas and brake pedal have some feel to them also.  You don't get feed back like you do from the brake pedal. But there is some linear movement to it. Set up costs 100 bucks.

Check out this video evaluation of Forza 3 with some crazy new porsche-inspired steering wheel and pedal cluster (includes ABS feedback through the brake pedal and steering wheel).  You can spend almost as much money on this stuff as on the real cars.

I put in about an hour a day on the Nurburging in Gran Turismo 4 in the months leading up to going there. I think it helped me get a good idea of where the track was going so when I got there I could spend more effort on being good at it vs learning where everything is.

The old logitech wheel is way better than the XBOX one. The force feedback is more realistic (though this could just be GT4's programming vs forza's) and it has 900 degrees of rotation instead of the 200ish that the XBOX one has.

edit: I have no idea why the first part is bolded.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Gran Turisomo 5 Prologue with the Logitech Driving Force GT wheel...
