What exactly is an "Australian Porn Star Hat" anyway?

Myles has been working hard and I think he's put together a solid schedule for us that provides a great variety.  Plenty of room though to do other events, and nothing wrong with that as long as you sign up for all of RTRs first! Wink

Seriously, we could all do events elsewhere and most of us do or have.  Other regions, NASA, Chin, etc.   I personally just like this group of people and the way the events are run better.   Not to say I don't want to find a gap in the schedule to squeeze in Lime Rock or T'bolt  though.

Both regions run great events.  I will agree that RTR's run groups do tend tend to be faster. The big plus to RTR's schedule is that RTR offers a variety of tracks and growth as a high speed driver requires exposure to different tracks.  I have moved students up a run group based on their performance on a track they have many events on and when they registered for an event on a track they had little or no experience with I questioned if I had made a mistake.  Experience on different tracks builds a technical skill set that can adapt quickly to new tracks. For a student who participates in most of RTR's events the RTR program produces excellent drivers.

"Australian Porn Star hat" is the self-described leather headgear worn by our President, Graham Knight.

And, no doubt about it, RTR has some fantastic people and that's the true key to our events.

Makes perfect sense now!

First Schattenbaum event went well.  Perfect weather.  RTR was well represented.  Our contingent was only responsible for a mere two sessions being black flagged.

Except for the Boxter incident... was he ok?

I also got rear-ended at the apex of T2 while driving the Pink Unicorn.  No serious damage but it broke off the back bumper.  That was the first time I ever had car to car contact at a DE event!  The driver of the car that hit me said "I saw a pass signal" haha, I don't know how because I never gave one (too busy holding on for my life).  Besides, how do you claim you were trying to pass and hit another car in the rear bumper???  And at the apex of an uphill turn?

- Lainey - 03-21-2011

Really. Pretty bogus. They run a loose ship as we know but while visiting I heard some guys talkin smack about our Boxter guy who went off at T2.

PS Didn't see the horn AKA ice cream cone on the unicorn! Did it fall off?

- Darren - 03-21-2011

The rest of the guys got there before me.  Of course if I was there that would have been my priority!

Forward to 6:30 to see me get hit Smile

Funniest thing is my passenger says "So this won't be like bumper cars" right at the beginning going onto the track and then....

There were some cars running in Red that apparently had no clue about PCA extended passing.  One car twice gave me a late point by and when I set up to pass, he dove for the apex.   This was mentioned as a resolved problem in the second morning meeting.
