- betegh9 - 04-02-2012 Hewh! I am glad that I only check tire pressures................... - dmano - 04-04-2012 What if the car is jacked up but can't get a stand under it. IE: not high enough, will we be in violation of the rule? - Ben951 - 04-04-2012 Place a wheel under the frame as a good faith effort... ? - larrybard - 04-04-2012 dmano wrote: Quote:What if the car is jacked up but can't get a stand under it. Don't laugh I've run into that problem on my CRX... I ended up using the jack without the adjustable arm part under the control arm... This is not an issue on the 951 though. - dmano - 04-04-2012 No, my car is so low that when up jack it up to get wheel 1/2" off the ground I can't fit a stands under the car. I would have to jack it up 16" to fit my stands. I only use my stands if I am getting under the car not to change tires. I use a 3 pump race jack and real jack stands, not the consumer type. - Ben951 - 04-04-2012 dmano wrote: Quote:No, my car is so low that when up jack it up to get wheel 1/2" off the ground I can't fit a stands under the car. I believe they still want us to use stands even when not getting under the car, if I recall correctly. [Personally I think if you are not getting under the car and want to chance damage to your car, that's fine]. However, I think this is more of an insurance issue... - CarreraS - 04-04-2012 betegh9 wrote: Quote:Hewh! I am glad that I only check tire pressures................... Face it Nick, you rarely do that, either. You're too busy kibbitzing. ![]() - Brian Minkin - 04-04-2012 I own 2 of the lowest cars in our region. I had to buy a special jack with 1 3/4 inch clearance to even be able to get to the jack points. It will jack the car up high enough to place jack stands under the car. So I have a hard time with what David Mano is saying. As I said earlier in this thread I have witnessed a jack failure and a severly broken arm as result when someone was just changing tires. - betegh9 - 04-04-2012 CarreraS wrote: Quote:betegh9 wrote:Oh! when it comes to track driving in DE, it is all relax time.
