Wish I could join all of you at Summit Point but I have a wedding.

I was at WGI a week ago Monday & Tuesday. Cold track & cold tires on Monday accounted for 6 seriously bent cars. A high time instructor lost it on the off camber right hand turn on pit out. Never made it on track! They got smart on Tuesday and started under a 2 lap yellow flag.

Was that Group 52?

- Bill Lehman - 10-22-2012

No, Not Group 52. It was Niagara Region. Monday morning it was 34 degrees. I skipped the first session but there were reports of some moisture on the track and very slippery conditions. Niagara also mixed their "Black" group which is like RTR "White" with Red and impatience of Red drivers didn't help. The Chief Instructor shut things down with a driver's meeting. Some of the wrecks were students with instructors in the car. There was a very long instructors meeting after the first day. I believe that the second day was incident free.

Just wanted to thank all you RTR guys for a great last event of the season. The weather cooperated, the critters were at a minimum (except for the 2 gophers who became road-pizzas) Unfortunately I had to leave early, but it was a good time. I really enjoyed the post-day paddock fun Saturday night. For added international flair, it felt like "little Portugal" with the home-made wine and man, the grilled sausage and artisan bread was amazing!

For those of you who couldn't join - we missed you (Felker, Klingster)!! Cool

Winterfest update:

Tentatively looking at Saturday Dec 8th, though for added cost we potentially can have the event in late November... Might be sleeping off turkey though.

Issue I'm contending with presently is insurance coverage. NJMP used to provide this service for added cost but no longer do so. I'm awaiting a quote and should have an overall participant fee estimate next week.

I'll start another thread on the event shortly. Stay tuned, and thanks to all for enlisting or encouraging others to participate!
