Pretty crappy driving for solo drivers!

This I why I do not think that video should be allowed in the instructed groups cars.......and I guess in the cranial challenged solo groups as well.

In video #3, I don't agree about the track conditions.  It had rained a little over night and was a little cool at the start, but not 15 degrees below the previous day.  His buddy told him he brakes at 400, so he "had to brake later".  If you watch the clip, the car filming starts to slow before the 600 while the grey gt3 brakes much later.  His friend almost lost it in the same turn.  You really hear his tires (MSPC's, I think) screaming.

Also, Potomac runs without cones.  So, now you have people who don't know a track without any idea where to go.  Add in the minimal usage of the blue flag mixed with reduced passing zones and that's what you get.

As things considered, it was good seat time.  The track was great and so was the weather.

I'll be at SP with Potomac on the 14-15th. Last time I drove with them I thought they had cones, but maybe it's a WGI thing for them?

I really like having cones on day one, but then taking them off for subsequent days.

:?On the lap video the guy in the Cab was smokin him and they were still several feet off the apex.  What group was that?

- smankow - 07-05-2007

white group.  the driver of the cab was a female instructor who was fast and aggressive - even if her lines weren't perfect.  She was driving a 997S Cab.

I think they as a group are unfamiliar with WGI.  You should have seen some of the lines taken by instructed drivers in the Blue Runs Grp.

Also, we need to get rid of our Romulan Cloaking Devices (for the Star Trek minded).  We will get point bys sooner then.

They are a nice group of people, and have a wide variety of Porsches on the track.  It is nice to see some earlier cars on the track.

Chris a 997 GT3 should running closer to 2:10s  no problem.  His laps were in the 2:15 plus range.  Not bad, but not really fast. Smile

This car/driver was at Zone2 VIR. Driven pretty well, but it took 1/2 a lap to get a pass signal.

BTW, if you watch the vid, the cab is off line in some very critical places. With 75 extra hp, I should have been toast.
