Sorry for the delay...
996 and 997 are in Super Stock SS which is in group D
Group A - STS, STS2, STX2, STU, DS, Ladies, F125, Karts (NOTE: no karts in NJ)
Group B - FS, GS, HS, PRO, All Mod Classes,
Group C - SM, SM2, ASP, BSP, CSP, DSP, ESP, FSP
Group D - STX, SS, AS, BS, CS, ES, All Prepared Classes
The schedule is CDAB so you drive the 2nd session of the morning heat, work during the first session. Walk the course as much as you can, then try to get a job shagging cones out there, if possible. Philly region is very newbie friendly, so ask someone in a yellow philly shirt if you need any help. There are instructors available to you on most runs. They usually hang out by the start line with a helmet, sometimes under a canopy, so ask for one as often as you need.
Remember to look ahead :dude: and don't stall at the start line, Wayne

Super stock class - wow! It'll be a pleasure to come last and second last respectively!
11am is much more civilised for me .. suggest turn up at 11am, try to get into PM (novice) group and if wrong, plead newbie ignorance.
if they still say no, suggest watch for a while then go for late brunch!

I'd prefer to do the Am session and that works better for me... that way I can play with the cars and be done by lunchtime to enjoy the rest of my son's birthday playing with him.
I'll follow-up tomorrow, as I'm currently up in Massachusetts, it's been a very long day and I'm getting close to falling asleep on my feet, which is not good considering that I'm interviewing candidates from 8am tomorrow and I'm still prepraring for their interviews. :/

...unfortunately, this is an aspect of my job that I do for "free" - extra-curricular - done just for the fun of attempting to hire my future replacements. Campus recruiting is fun, but a lot of hard work. Thankfully it only takes up a couple of weeks each fall and only distracts from the real work for a little while. ... it's always fun to be on campus talking to students about

Usually, they will let you run non competition (NC) runs if you don't want to go with your class at the appointed time. You still have to work, but it affords you some flexibility in your schedule if you don't care about season points or such...
Wellard... have fun with Colby (?) Time flies, before you know it, he'll be borrowing your car to go autocrossing

That's the plan. I don't get to spend enough time with him and having been up in Mass. for most of this week I'm looking forward to having a nice weekend.
As for his driving the car, he can dream about driving it. He doesn't know how lucky he is being the only kid that gets to drive to daycare in a Porsche.
It always amuses me to see the look on people's faces when I pull up and take an infant carrier out of the back of the car.

Minivans are evil!
Autocrossing and pregnancy are things that really shouldn't mix. Colby and his brother were mean to my wife - she was so sick - It was hard to have her travel in a car, nevermind do anything as ambitious as AX.
