There is a newer set of showers right in the Shenandoah paddock. I started camping at a lot of NASA and a few RTR events last year -- easy way to make sure you are there early in the AM...nothing like an unmuffled 3.8 to wake you up in the morning
I'll be camping for Shenandoah -- no idea whether I'll be the only person doing that. Some of my racing friends are camping at the Main Course paddock this weekend.

You know, that sounds like a lot of fun. Camping and racing..... er, uhh... I mean Driver Ed. What an outstanding combination!!! Now do you bring a tent, or would an enclosed car trailer work?

I always bring a tent but an enclosed trailer works just fine! (I just don't have one) Many people do that and just throw a mattress in there.
I'm not sure what the campfire rules are at Shenandoah, I'm going to call the office there tomorrow and find out. We've had bonfires at Jefferson and Summit Main, so I assume there is a fire area at Shenandoah also.

Also, despite my to hedging free up Friday night for the obligatory dinner with bride tomorrow night in exchange for another track-weekend anniversary, Jenn says...."why wouldn't we have dinner with everyone else."
Either inconsistency, old age setting in, or she's a great wife? I better go with the later and see you a Brewbakers!

Again, nice job of defending & overtaking in your SSM race yesterday. We couldn't believe that the flipped miata at the top of the chute only brought out a 1 corner yellow....that must be racing!?!

Thanks for stopping by. I give the WDCR SCCA workers a huge amount of credit. That was a standing yellow as the cars were off the track when they came to rest--no passing from the yellow to the incident, but keep racing. Then the emergency vehicle came out under a white flag with the worker in the back waving cars that remained at full speed around on one side or the other. These workers are well known for their hot pulls, and the trust between drivers and workers. It's pretty wild. Happily it was just bent metal and no injuries.
It was great to see the RTR crew, and I'm looking forward to my next DE with you all.

Spec Pinata
Hot pulls are great. I'd love to see us do that in DE. It works fine in NASA DE's, and saves a lot of time.
I remember a long time ago doing a non-PCA DE event and I saw a white flag and had no idea what it meant. I was thinking, one more lap???
Sure enough there was a tow truck on the course.

As Darren said, Nasa is great with hot pulls. During the race last month at VIR, we had 2 tow trucks within 2 turns pulling out carnage. I had to weave between trucks first on the left, then on the right at full song. It did change your line slightly
hock:. The tactic was to adjust your speed in a little less to slow the the guy chasing you and get early throttle before the course went back green.
