- Jimbeau - 01-19-2011 http://www.multibriefs.com/briefs/pca/PCA_Annual_Policy_1-11.pdf FYI for those still in the market Lockton Affinity is now offering an annual policy covering a $20k vehicle for 6 events or less for around $590. Single event $30k policy for the Glen last year was ~$240 so this is a pretty good deal IMO. Personally, I would never submit an on-track claim to my auto policy even if they did cover b/c I insure 3 other vehicles with them and don't want to risk my rates. I've always planned to absorb the cost if the worst occurred and hedged on tracks like Watkins Glen and Daytona with single event policies. This year I think the annual policy is in order. - KennyB - 01-20-2011 Good to know about that half-dozen basket coverage. The other player in town (WSIB) has been providing a 10-event package, but with the potentially anemic schedule due this year, maybe 6 events plus single event coverage as needed will be the best bet. - rhargy - 01-22-2011 I applied for the 10 event coverage with WSIB and got a "we are in the process of revamping the program and are not accepting these risks presently" message. So who knows whether they'll be offering that coverage again this season. - Bill Lehman - 01-23-2011 I contacted my WSIB agent regarding renewal of my policy which expires in March and was told that a renewal would be sent in February so I assume they're still in the business. - rhargy - 01-24-2011 Bill - I did the online thing and maybe that's the problem. Could I impose for the name of your agent and maybe somebody who's getting a commission will show a little more enthusiasm. Thanks Bob - Bill Lehman - 01-24-2011 My agent is Mark Andrews marka@wsibinsurance.com - rhargy - 01-24-2011 Thanks - We'll give it a go. - Trevor McNeill - 01-29-2011 Throwing my 2 cents in .... I'll be looking for a multi day quote from both Lockton and WSIB for this coming year. I believe Lockton is going to be offering policies not just for 6 days but also for higher numbers of days. Having had first hand experience with making a (rather large) claim through Lockton, I can tell you that they were great. I have friends (you probably all know) who have made large claims through WSIB and also had no major issues. I believe that prior to '09 WSIB's underwriter was Lloyds, but that switched to Chubb for the '09 and '10 seasons, and their deductible went up somewhat. - Terry - 01-29-2011 Looks like WSIB may have withdrawn from the market. - Bill Lehman - 02-18-2011 My WSIB agent confirmed today that they are out of the HPDE insurance market. |
