- jmazz - 09-08-2008 I was looking at all the possiblities of a tie. If no one shows up we stay tied. If Jim wins and either myself or Nick come in second there will be a tie. Do we have a tie breaker? I hope it's not a heads up drag race because I can't beat any of you there. All four of us can win it still by coming in first. I think that shows that you guys did a great job setting this up and the PPF worked well. Except that Jim's new one is too low. I wonder what my PPF would look like if I showed up in a brand new WRX. More horsepower and AWD but the slaloms would never be the same. - Vytenis - 09-08-2008 This year's scoring with the best 4 out of 6 makes the championship that more interesting. You are not penalized if you miss an event (or two). Establishing PPF for cars is not easy or exact. We'll leave that to the pros at the Maverick region and SCCA. So we can discard our lowest 2 scores from any event, right?hock:hock: Well then, Steve would be in the running, even if he has triplets, and I will have to bring my best game face....... I mean tires. When and where is the next event? I will be in Shennandoah the weekend of the 18th of Oct. Just got back from 3 days at Thunderbolt....... good home track and fast turns. - Vytenis - 09-09-2008 Yes, the rules as set up in the beginning state that the highest four (4) scores out of six (6) events will be used. Nick, You have attended three (3) 2008 RTR autoX championship events to date. Since you are so fast, we'll drop two (2) of your lowest scores anyway. Our next event will be held on October 25th in Saskatoon, Canada. "V" - betegh9 - 09-09-2008 Yes V, drop my 2 lowest scores........... 0 and 0 again. I am Mapquesting that place in Canada, so count me IN. hock:hock: I am getting fresh rubber this week, so they will be brocken in nicely by the 25th of October. Will we have our own Octoberfest? - Vytenis - 09-09-2008 Next event is Oct. 25 at Englishtown NJ. I haven't heard of any meeting at Victory Brew Pub for this year. Membership meeting on Sat 27th SEP at Victory Brew Pub during their Octoberfest beer festival was cancelled as they won't cordon off an area for our cars like they have in previous years - monthly membership meeting will now be held at Porsche of the Mainline dealer on Wed 2th SEP - social 7pm meeting 8pm. HOWEVER, some of us are still planning to go to the Victory Beer fest on Sat 27th at 2pm -- if free, pls feel free to join us - betegh9 - 10-01-2008 Oh s**t!!:X Looks like I won't be able to make the last event............... I will be in Germany at my Nephews wedding. It came up suddenly, and i could not talk them into changing the date. Oh well!! I guess that it will be up to Jim an Jeremy to duke it out for the top dog and bragging rights........ till next year. Enjoy while you can, cause I'll be back next year with a new ride that I've been working on. THE GREEN WASABI1 - jmazz - 10-02-2008 That's too bad Nick. It's not the first time a marriage got in the way of fun. I'm still not sure if I can attend either. My house is for sale and I am moving to New Hampshire after it sells so I am extremely busy. My car is even for sale (see the classifieds). Admittedly, I'm not trying to hard to sell it. - Vytenis - 11-11-2008 Points for the 2008 RTR AutoX season have been tallied. Championship results are shown below. One point separates 1[suP]st[/suP] place from 3d. Congratulations to Jim Wirth in 1[suP]st[/suP] place. Great job Jim! Hopefully, Jim will be defending his title next year with a Porsche marquee! Steve McMorn 2[suP]nd[/suP] place. Way to go Steve! There was a points tie for second place. According to the rules (posted earlier this year) “In the event of a championship points tie, final positions will depend on highest number of wins, then 2nd places then 3rd places etc.?. Steve had more first place finishes and therefore took 2[suP]nd[/suP] place. Jeremy Mazzariello 3d place. Nice driving Jeremy! Too bad Steve and Jeremy couldn’t duke it out at the last event. Trophies will be awarded at the RTR holiday banquet in January. It was great season. Thanks to all who participated in the fair and fun competition. Learned a lot and had a great time meeting people. A special thanks to our sponsor, Specialty Cars of Allentown http://www.specialtycarsservicecenter.com Phone: 610-437-9333 Looking forward to next year. |
