- dmano - 04-27-2008 With the price of gas and diesel fuel these days it looks like I may not be doing too many DE's this year. Anybody else feel the same? What can done! - catchacab - 04-27-2008 We could break out the old Schwinns hiding in our garages, and track them. We will even be able to drop some lbs. I wonder what our lap times would be like? I bet ya, that the run groups would under-go some change. - michael lang - 04-27-2008 dmano, looking at the list of cars that are in your stable one would think that fuel economy is last thing you would be worried about. - dmano - 04-28-2008 They are all parked for now. Until I come up with a cylinder drop thingy to turn them into 4 cyl. while driving. Hard to do when they are not computer driven F/I cars. - Darren - 04-28-2008 My Acura used about 2 gallons/session Agreed though Dave, towing fuel is suddenly a serious consideration. $340 to VIR, $160 or so to Summit Point. Then another $100 tech inspection, registration fees, etc.... - George3 - 04-28-2008 Darren wrote: Quote:My Acura used about 2 gallons/sessionWow........... nice. - ccm911 - 04-28-2008 David and Darren, you both bring up a good point. The fuel cost of the tow rig is probably more than the cost of fuel used on the track. How about race fuel? I always thought that since it was so expensive that the price pretty much stayed the same. Is this the case, or has it risen as well? - bobt993 - 04-28-2008 Time to get one of these guys. I am seriously considering this option......... - dmano - 04-28-2008 ccm911 wrote: Quote:David and Darren, you both bring up a good point. You just don't buy it at the tracks as they charge a LOT. I buy my fuel from Lucky's Race Cars in Pheonixville he sells VP very cheep. - Darren - 04-28-2008 How much is that? At Summit I think someone said it was $7.50, either 100 or 110, same price. I use 93 and decided to get a rack put on my trailer so I can bring my own. |
