- Vytenis - 04-29-2008 2008 RTR Autocross Scoring System The scoring system we will use for 2008 RTR autocross events will be similar to the one used last year. For Porsche cars, we will use the Maverick PCA spreadsheet to handicap the cars and establish a PPF (Predicted Performance Factor). To handicap non-Porsche entries, a modified SCCA PPF factor will be used. See table below. To determine your non-Porsche car PPF, you’ll need to determine your SCCA classification. Actual autocross time will be multiplied by your PPF to determine corrected time and will be tallied towards the championship points. Cars without a PPF will not be eligible for championship points. The championship will consist of approximately 6 events, starting with May 4, SCCA Warminster. Points will be awarded per F1 format with 10 points for 1[suP]st[/suP] place, 9 points for 2[suP]nd[/suP] place, etc. with a minimum of 1 point awarded for attendance. Autocross results will be posted on the forum shortly after each event. Points from your best 4 events will be counted towards the championship total. In the event of a championship points tie, final positions will depend on highest number of wins, then 2nd places then 3rd places etc. Championship prizes will be awarded for 1[suP]st[/suP], 2[suP]nd[/suP], and 3d place. To be included in the championship points, you must have a PPF number for your car. For Porsche cars, the MS Excel spreadsheet to calculate this is available at http://www.rtr-pca.org/vroom-vroom/AX/2008%20Autocross_Classification_Worksheet.xls. The spreadsheet must be filled out and submitted for 2008 even if you did this last year and nothing has changed. Most of the entries are fairly straightforward. You must enable macros when prompted. Fill in the purple areas only. If your car is stock you can use most of the default values. Please submit completed spreadsheet to rtrautox@hotmail.com . For non-Porsche cars, use the table below per SCCA guidelines to determine your class. Please send car info & SCCA class to email address above. This will save time at the event. Someone from the autocross committee will be available before each event to answer any questions about your PPF. Thanks, Vytenis (“V?) - STEVEMCMORN - 04-29-2008 Thanks Vee - I know you put alot of hard work in behind the scenes to figure out a new system to allow our non-porsche friends to join in the fun. I will save a copy of the MAV spreadsheet on my laptop and bring it along on saturday and sunday in case anyone needs a bit of help Great Job Vee - Thanks! - jmazz - 04-30-2008 Hmm, my car doesn't appear to be supported by the spreadsheet. 2007 Cayman. Is it because I don't get a handicap? (believe me, I'll need one) Do I still need to submit a sheet? At this point I'm only planning to do 3 events so it may not matter but if I manage to sneak in a 4th event I'd like to be eligible. Thanks, Jeremy - Vytenis - 04-30-2008 Porsche model years 2007 & 2008 are not included in the spreadsheet. If you are in this category please e-mail your model info, year, and engine or suspension modifications to rtrautox@hotmail.com. We'll figure out a PPF for you. "V" - zook - 05-05-2008 V: Thanks again for the letters on sunday. I am trying to fill out the handicapping sheet but am having some problems. After i fill out the year cell, i am unable to choose a model. The only option listed in the drop down is "choose year first." Please help. I am excited to see where I ended up after my handicap. I think I am going to run the whole series with you guys. Does yesterdays event count toward the championship? Thanks again. Pat - Vytenis - 05-05-2008 Yes. Yesterday's event does count toward the championship. I will contact you to work out the spreadsheet problems. "V" - Vytenis - 05-06-2008 When filling out the spreadsheet to determine your Porsche PPF, you must include the tire data even if your car is "stock". Note that some years had more than one (1) "stock" offering. For example, a 1987 911 could be equipped with either 15" or 16" rims. The spreadsheet default stock data may not be correct. Please verify (type in)the data. In all cases you must include the Uniform Tire Quality Grade (UTQG) Wear Rating. This will affect your PPF. Trying to keep this "fair and fun" Thanks, "V" |
