DO I HAVE THIS STRAIGHT?
HIS FATHER WAS A BLACK AFRICAN MUSLIM FROM KENYA . WE HAVE SEEN PICTURES OF HIS AFRICAN FAMILY.
HIS MOTHER WAS A WHITE AMERICAN ATHEIST FROM KANSAS . WHERE ARE THE PICTURES OF HIS AMERICAN FAMILY?
HIS FATHER DESERTED HIS MOTHER WHEN HE WAS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD AND WENT BACK TO AFRICA BY WAY OF HARVARD UNIVERSITY . HOW? WAS HIS FATHER WEALTHY?
HIS MOTHER MARRIED AN INDONESIAN MUSLIM AND THEN MOVED TO JAKARTA WHERE HE WAS ENROLLED IN A MUSLIM SCHOOL .
WHEN HE REACHED HIGH SCHOOL AGE HIS MOTHER SENT HIM TO HAWAII TO BE WITH HIS WHITE GRANDPARENTS AND HE WAS PUT INTO AN EXPENSIVE PRIVATE SCHOOL. HE LATER WENT TO HARVARD UNIVERSITY . HOW? WERE HIS GRANDPARENTS RICH?
HE LIVES IN A $1.4 MILLION HOUSE OBTAINED THROUGH A DEAL WITH A WEALTHY HY FUND RAISER. HOW?
HE 'WORKED' AS A CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST IN CHICAGO . HE HAS NEVER HELD A PRODUCTIVE JOB OR RECEIVED A PAY CHECK THAT WAS NOT GOVERNMENT-FUNDED AND/OR TAXPAYER SUPPORTED.
THE PRESIDENCY IS NOT A CIVIL RIGHTS POSITION, NOR IS IT SUBJECT TO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION SET ASIDES; ON-THE-JOB TRAINING WON'T CUT IT.
HE ENTERED POLITICS AT THE STATE LEVEL AND THEN THE NATIONAL LEVEL WHERE HE HAS MINIMAL EXPERIENCE.
HE IS PROUD OF HIS 'AFRICAN HERITAGE' (A FATHER WHO GOT A WHITE GIRL PREGNANT AND DESERTED HER).
WHERE IS THE PRIDE IN HIS 'WHITE HERITAGE'? (A MOTHER WHO FLAUNTED CONVENTION AND DID NOT BELIEVE IN GOD).
SOME MIGHT THINK THERE WAS NOT MUCH TO BE PROUD OF EITHER WAY.
HE BELONGS, AND HAS BELONGED FOR OVER 20 YEARS, TO AN 'AFRO-CENTRIC' CHURCH IN CHICAGO THAT HATES WHITES, HATES JEWS, AND BLAMES AMERICA FOR ALL THE WORLD'S PERCEIVED FAULTS. (INCLUDING CREATING THE AIDs VIRUS IN ORDER TO INFLICT IT ON AFRICANS).
HE REPEATEDLY WHITEWASHES THE PASTOR, HIS CHURCH AND THE MEMBERS WHO CHEERED AFTER HEARING VITRIOLIC TIRADES AGAINST AMERICA
HE COULD NOT CONFRONT HIS PASTOR BUT HE WANTS US TO BELIEVE HE CAN CONFRONT NORTH KOREA AND IRAN ? YEAH RIGHT!!
DURING HIS VERY BRIEF TIME IN THE UNITED STATES SENATE HE HAS MANAGED TO AMASS THE NUMBER ONE ULTRA LIBERAL VOTING RECORD OUT OF THE ONE HUNDRED MEMBERS.
HE HAS VOTED CONSISTENTLY FOR BIGGER GOVERNMENT AND HIGHER TAXES. HE HAS VOTED FOR BIG ENTITLEMENTS AND LEGISLATION THAT WOULD SEVERELY CURTAIL AMERICA 'S ABILITY TO FIGHT TERRORISM AND TO PROTECT OUR BORDERS AND OUR NATIONAL INTERESTS AROUND THE WORLD.
BUT, HE IS A GOOD ORATOR. ISN'T THAT A COMFORT?
YEAH, I THINK I SEE HOW WELL HE COULD UNITE THE COUNTRY.
I THINK THE TRUTH IS THAT HE HOPES NO ONE WILL PUT THE PIECES TOGETHER.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO OUR NEW CHIEF PILOT.HE HAS NEVER FLOWN AN AIRPLANE, IN FACT HE HAS NEVER EVEN SAT IN THE COCKPIT, BUT HE SAYS HE HAS RIDDEN ON PLANES BEFORE. WE ARE SURE HE WILL GUIDE US SAFELY THROUGH THE STORMS WE MAY ENCOUNTER ON THIS FLIGHT.
PEOPLE WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? HAVE YOU NEVER HEARD THE STORY ABOUT THE WOLF HIDING IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING SO HE CAN DESTROY THEM FROM WITH-IN? THE HAND WRITING IS ON THE WALL, DO YOU NOT HAVE EYES TO SEE IT?

WOW, where to begin. . .
Lets start with Language Arts:
- Heritage: "tradition, etc. handed down from one's ancestors or the past." See Webster. Are you asserting that the conduct of your parents is the foundation for your heritage?
- I certainly hope that my friends and family are not criticized as a result of my athiesm.
- Wouldn't "ultra liberal" be communism?
- Why do we need pictures of his American family?
- I don't know whether his parents were rich, nor do I care as such is irrelevant.
- McCain abandoned his first wife after she became disfigured in an auto accident and he went on to marry a beautiful heiress. (I don't care. That is his right as an American under our legal system; and it has nothing to do with his ability to run the country.)
- Why should Obama be held accountable for the acts of his birth father who was not instrumental in his upbringing.
- Why does it matter that his mother married a Muslim. Are we at war with the Muslims?
- Are government employees to be perceived differently from those who have not dedicated themselves to public service? By the way, Obama practiced as a lawyer and taught Constitutional Law.
- Have they changed the electoral college to provide that minorities do not need to receive the majority of the electoral votes? If not, what does affirmative action have to do with your position?
- Why would it be wrong for an African American to belong to an Afrocentric church? Is it wrong for Italians to belong to a Roman Catholic church which conducts services in Latin, the language spoken in Italy at the time Roman Catholicism came into existence? Is it wrong for Semites to belong to Synagouges?
- Is one required to believe or accept the preachings of their minister which are rooted in politics and not religion?
- Is the philosophy of a church evidenced by the substance of one of its minister's preachings as related to political issues?
- What is white heritage? I didn't know there was such a thing since white is not an ethnicity.
- when you speak of big government and high taxes, are your referring to an evergrowing military and expenses associated therewith, or are you speaking of Obama's intention to allow a temporary tax break given to the top 1% of the wealthiest people in this country to expire. (This, for some reason, is being called a tax increase by the right).
- Didn't Obama state that catching Bin Laden, and going after Al Quada was one of his top priorities. This would be much easier if we were not wasting so many resources and lives in Iraq, a country which, prior to invasion was more secular than any country in the region except perhaps Turkey.
- Never flown an airplane . . . ? Is this a metaphor?
- Wolf in sheeps clothing? Are you buying this Manchurian candidate thing?

...and what does all of that have to do with whom I cast my vote? Right now, I don't have a candidate that I favor, but none of the above would influence my decision.

Actually, after Bush and Cheney, I think I'll take my chances on less experience. If those two are indicative of how experienced politicians operate, then it would be highly improbable that anyone else in America could do a worse job.
I am really tiring of all of this republican rhetoric.

Exactly Lou. At this point, I don't think either one is capable of running the country as president. But unfortunately we have to choose one of them. What the American public should be doing IMO, is getting behind another candidate who is neither republican or democrat. Let's face it, at this point it's painfully obvious that a 2 party system just isn't working. They both have their own agenda and none of it is beneficial to their respective constituants. We need a new party in there, but we've been so brainwashed by the two current party's that none of the smaller ones have a chance.

Anyone with half a brain understands that in todays political environment, you are voting for the party, not the person. It really doesn't matter who the candidate is, it is what their political party represents. After seeing what has happened to this country over the last 8 years, the choice should be clear.

There are many differing viewpoints on this forum, and I don't think it is really cool to be having a "Beat up on David Fest". His views may be different, maybe even sometimes inflamatory, but until this thread turned ugly, we always had some good debates. See guys, David participates in a constructive manner.
So let me reiterate. Don't come to Off Topic if you are easily offended.

I thought you would be able to read between the lines. This had nothing to do with an aeroplane. It means he has no experience with foreign policies. I sure as hell don't want a bumbling fool talking to the North Koreans, Russia or the Chinese. Although he is good at talking up some good B/S to cover his arse.
