I'm talking with a Boxster owner who just moved to the area and would like to do a DE. He does not have a hard top, though. I want to encourage him, but not send him down a blind alley.

What's the rule for Boxsters on the track in Green?

No hard top required.  Must pass the broom stick test or would be required to get a BK roll bar extension.  Top must be up on the track.

Thanks, Brian. I think it's one of the newer Boxsters that has the higher rollbar (that BK does not make an extension for), but I will check.

Chris,

I haven't seen an extension for a 987 ('05+). At 6'1," I barely passed the broomstick in the 986. In the 987 it shouldn't be an issue for as Porsche extended the factory roll bar to meet the windscreen.

If he cannot get the bar to go higher, maybe he can go lower.  If the driver cannot meet the broomstick rule with the existing roll bar, he might try lowering himself with aftermarket sport seats with side mounts.
