- ghassler - 09-07-2008 I just bought a new Hans device in the medium size. My neck measures about 16" (if I'm measuring right) which is near the middle of what the medium is supposed to fit and on the low side of the large size. With that said, the device seems small. I wouldn't say it's completely uncomfortable, but it's definitely smaller that I thought. How should a Hans device fit on your neck and shoulders? Can you fit the device over your head to put it on or do you have to slide it on from the back? - Brian Minkin - 09-07-2008 You have to slide it in from the back. It will rest in the middle of your shoulders. - dmano - 09-07-2008 My kneck is a 17 and I use a med. size for a perfect fit. Brian is correct on the installation - pnolan - 09-30-2008 I have a big head (7 3/4 helmet size) and a fairly large neck (17 1/2) so I have a Large Hans, and can only put it on from sliding it from the rear and spread at the front edge of the Hans is still tight. If you haven't purchased quick releases for it you really want to. I didn't and used mine for a year before getting the QR's, what a difference in the ease with which I put on and take off. At a $100 they seem ridiculously over priced, but after using them for three or four events, worth every penny in convenience let alone improved safety if you absolutely had to get out of your car quickly after an incident. |
