- larrybard - 10-29-2006

I was previously notified that I'm waitlisted for Nov. 10-12 at Summit.  Now that the date is approaching, and indeed less than 15 days away, is it standard procedure for me to be contacted and told whether I have been accepted, or I should assume that I have been accepted, or . . . . ?

Thanks,

Larry

(wondering whether to schedule an appointment with my mechanic for a tech inspection -- or to call it a season and switch to the snow tires)

Larry, have you emailed the registrar?  She would be the best to know if you're accepted.  That address in on our website.  For future reference, it doesn't hurt to go to our tech sessions even if you haven't been accepted yet as your car will be ready in case you're accepted and you also get a chance to get a better view and understanding of your car.

Larry,

My wife Carol is doing the registration for the Summit event so I can fill you in on the process.

The fact that you haven't heard anything means you are still on the waitlist - as are a bunch of other folks.

The track chair, chief instructor, and registrar typically get together one week prior to an event to finalize the student list, instuctor pairings, work assignments, run group schedules, etc. This is when we know the official status of those remaining on the wait list.

That meeting is happening this weekend so I would expect to hear offical notification shortly thereafter.

Jack,

Thanks very much for the information.  I took Steve's advice and contacted Carol, who was kind enough to promptly respond a bit earlier this morning, telling me that I'm "near the top of the list."  So I'm crossing my fingers and waiting patiently.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too, Larry...
