The Potomac Club Race at Summit Point just got better!
3-5 October

TWO sprint races and an enduro AND a NEWLY REPAVED TRACK (see below).  That's what awaits you at the Summit Point Club Race.  We are also offering a solo-only DE in conjunction with the race.

Details of the race and the DE are posted on www.pcapotomac.org.

Registration is open NOW for both sections of the event:

-          Club Race registration at clubregistration.net

-          Advanded DE registration at http://pcapotomac.us/

We know that you may have been hesitant because some bad press on the state of some sections of the track, but that is now a thing of the past.

Right after the SCCA Double National races last weekend, Summit Point cleared their schedule this week and has re-paved the areas that were breaking up.  That means a virtually new track surface for us!! The good news is that BSR has done a terrific job on the repaving work. I was out there today, and all the problem areas have been thoroughly ground out and repaved with quality polymer and aggregate. The transitions onto and off the newly paved sections are seamless as far as I could see without actually driving it. Turn 1 has been repaved from turn-in through to the run-out of Turn 2. The carousel section has been repaved in one continuous section from turn-in at Turn 5, through Turn 6, and ending at the straight section between Turn 7 and Turn 8. I’ve attached some pictures taken yesterday that I think you’ll like!

We really need to get a better idea of how many racers we will have.  So, if you are planning to do Summit Point (and with TWO sprint races and the NEW paving, there are more good reasons than ever), please register now.  We are about to pull the trigger on a bunch of costly items, and that's what we want the region to do -- pull the trigger, not the plug.  However, right now the current registrations can't support the event.  If we can't get a better count, the Region may cancel the race, and probably won't even try to run the race in the future.

There are new track records waiting to be set, so we hope you’ll join us for a great race on the new track.

Thanks,
