The ice in my neighborhood was a good 1/4" thick on the road. I walk two blocks to the R8, and I saw eight cars in various fender benders. There is a bit of a hill and cars were sliding down it, sliding into each other as they attempted to turn and the like. I fell on an bit of uneven sidewalk (not hurt) and one of my colleagues who just drove his C4 in from the Main Line needs a new quarter panel on it now.

Nasty travel. Hope you had the day off!

The Cayenne got me to work on time in the Lehigh Valley.   Having my egg nog & coffee.

However, I drove the A4 120 miles to a holiday party at corporate last Friday and slid into a curb 2 blocks from home.  It's at Knopf for a wheel, tire, & axle.

I waited a bit before going out, for the ice to turn to slush on the roads.  Just got back, unscratched, luckily.  Josh, sorry to hear about the A4.  :?

I was leaving myhouse at 6:30, took the trash to the curb, the street had more than 1/4 of an inch of ice. Went back inside, called my employees and told them to stay home. The safety of my staff and patients is more important than a few dollars.

Called 911 7:30PM had them take Diane's sister to Chester County Hospital, they called me at 2AM to come pick her up. The hospital is 15min. from my house. Took 2 hrs to get there and 2 hrs to get home. All black ice. Had fun though, doing boot legs around most corners in 4whl drive.  Always remember to drop the vehicle in neutral, this evens the braking power to all the wheels. Got home with no damage to the X but I slipped and fell on my arse 2 times.

Left home (not too far from Chris) for work around my normal time (close to 8:00 a.m.) and got to work fine -- in my 993.  When I say it's my daily driver, I mean it.  When fall arrived I took off the MPSCs and put on my snow tires.

(Who would rather drive his 993 than the AWD Sienna or even modified S6 quattro.)
