I just had my first real outing with the Diasio 962R with NASA at Watkins Glen on May 4[suP]th[/suP]-5[suP]th[/suP].  While all around the 5 state region it was raining, the weather Gods were smiling upon us and it didn’t rain at all on the track while I was there.

This was my first serious track event with the Diasio, and let me tell you…… what a thrill it was to drive this car !!  But, it’s not to say it’s an easy car to drive by any means and not a car newer drivers should consider.

From the first awkward session to a 2:06 personal best, I can see I’m still leaving a lot on the table with this amazing car.  This video is only a taste of what this car can do, and in capable hands is certainly a 2-minute track weapon.

PS-

NASA is a great group of guys and lots of fun to run with.  They are easy going, yet structured with a good instructor corp. . .  No games and No BS.  They run all the area tracks the same that PCA does and offer racing programs (if you’re in to that) and even have incentives for “free? track days for bringing a friend to a DE.  You should consider them (no affiliation)

Steve-
It sure does look like a mini van.
I think it was a VW hatchback, or something.

Hey, where were all the fans in the stands?

Looks like fun.  You gotta give me a ride in that baby.  At least one lap.

looking nice and smooth, george.   i expecially liked how 'quiet' you were keeping your hands on the wheel;  with that super fast nonpowered rack, you need to have nice quiet hands!

man, when there weren't any other cars around, it almost looked serene and slow!  lol!  then you would see a Z06 for a sec or two, and then you were GONE!

keep taking little steps, increasing your speed little by little, and get used to trusting the downforce and especially the brakes (i know it takes getting used to with the non assisted, non abs brakes!).  i could tell just from watching, that she'll go up the esses ALOT faster, and she can fly around the outer loop alot faster....   that's a 1:52/1:53 machine ya got there, mang!   Cool   (Edit from last night;  just looked up the DSR records for WGI!!!)

oh, and i loved the sound track!  that rotary sounds plain mean when combined with that sequential box!!!

PS  video quality looked really nice!!!!

Jimo,   If the weather holds out... you got it.  Will you be there Friday?

Todd,  1:53 ??  Wow, I've got a lot of work to do to get there.  Maybe I'll start practicing harder at Pocono this weekend.  Cool    There were some GT1 cars there at WGI that were doing 1:54's.... that's flying!

- StoogeMoe203 - 05-12-2009

I will be at Pocono Sat. and Sun. only.  I'm registered for the full three days at WGI in August.  I'm sure I'll run into you this weekend.
