so i got the compressor off no problem...however i would like to take the bracket off completely...there are 4 bolts...2 below that are very easy once the muffler and muffler bracket are off...one above right next to the fan, no problem....but the 4th one...is nothing ever totally simple on these cars? the bolt is not visible and is underneath the bracket..there seems to be a sqaure access port in front of it and by touching it with my finger i'm pretty sure it's of the allen type. None of my allen wrenches could reach it and I have a decent assortment. Am I missing something? Is the proper technique to reach the bolt through the above mentioned hole with an allen? or is it something totally different?

At an impasse.

Try a mirror, or bring it over this weekend and we can look at it with my boroscope.

That bracket is definitely a tight fit.  The last time I had my engine out, I was able to take a look at the setup.  If you can wait until you drop the engine next, it would be much easier, as the bottom part you are describing is a tight fit.  It kind of snakes through the emgine tins and the rear engine mount.

When Myles did his, I think he ended up cutting it flush instead of unbolting the whole thing.

But in the end, not much weight savings as it is aluminum.

Just my dumb opinion. Smile
