I keep having conversations with people where I say "well maybe you should come down to the Make a Wish event in October at NJMP and see what it's all about"
I've been talking to several friends, work acquaintances, other random people about what we do at DE events and having this at NJMP I think makes it a more attractive place to have people show up and see what DE is all about. The Glen was very nice also but a bit too far away.
In the past we've offered ride alongs with instructors for a donation, and now we have the Taste of the Track program. I wouldn't be suprised if we could get quite a number of people to participate in these at NJMP. I know I'd be willing to sponsor several friends/co-workers.
Is Bill taking the lead on the charitable aspects of the event again this year?

I think Darren is right! I have sponsored people who cycle to raise money for Crohns' Disease - why not have people sponsor drivers and/or track rides to bring in money for the foundation?

At our SVRA events on Sat. and Sunday at lunch time we give rides in the race cars for donations. We charge 5 bucks a lap in the car of your choice that is avail for the drive around. We raise an average of 1200.00 in that hour.

The only issue I see is that we don't get a lot of spectators at our events.

I think the goal would be to try to get spectators (family/friends/business associates) to come and attend the MAW event, the silent auction, etc.
Besides, i would probably pay money for rides too

If we have a big turn out it would be a great fund raiser. You must have each person/parent "10 years old was the limit" sign a waiver before they get in the car. We always have 2 club members help in strapping the passenger in so they are in tight. Then it is up to the driver how fast he or she wants to take the passenger around the track. Just make sure the driver knows that there is a limit. We set it at 110mph on the straights. No corner workers needed and no medical needed as long as the track is ok with it. We always did this at Pocono, The Glen and Summit.

Great idea, David. I wouldn't mind taking someone out for a great donation.
