As a mid-pack Blue student, I am trying to focus on consistency rather than speed.  I just bought the following gadget to better judge the entry to turns:

At least for me, there is too much happening at Turn-In for me to be looking at the OEM speedometer, and the seat-of-my-pants is not sensitive enough yet.

I've seen similar devices, but this one updates five times per second.  Some others are only once per second.  I verified its accuracy using a measured mile on the Turnpike, and 60 mph was exactly 60 mph.  I've also tested its responsiveness to see if it followed vehicle speed when I rolled the car very slowly and stomped on the brakes.  It looked good enough to my untrained eye.

Joe, neat idea.... couldn't find the price tag - are you getting one?

Update:  The HG-100 is actually out of production.  I found a used one on Craigslist for $55.  It works exactly as advertised.  I plan to mount the device in my line of sight but block off the compass feature and its warning lights so that only the speed appears on the windshield.  There is a related new model called the HG-100B that is about $105:

It looks like a different manufacturer bought the rights to the device since it is issued under a different name.
