- asher681 - 09-08-2009 Dear resident genius... The prior problem we discussed eariler (stsrter not disenguaging) was fixed by replacing the ignition switch 2 weeks ago.. Now for the bad news, when I returned home from a drive I parked the 968 in the garage, in gear, parking brake on & the key removed. Katierine & I then went out in the 996 for dinner, when we returned the 968 exited the garage & attacked my pick up. Not good... The battey was dead so I pushed the car 20' back into the garage disconneted the dead batteriy & charged it over night. The next morning I connected the battery went inside & made a cup of coffee.. 5 minutes later I steped into the garage to see the 968 slowly leaving he garage powered by the starter, again the key was not in the ignition, the car was in gear & the parking brake on... One strong starter...... What is you opinion ??? Joe - catchacab - 09-08-2009 asher681 wrote: Quote:Dear resident genius... Maybe the car is telling you something. :dude: Remember the movie Christine? - George3 - 09-08-2009 Joe, If I recall correctly, didn't you have a starter issue earlier this year at NJMP? G - Larry Herman - 09-08-2009 I think that it is trying to run away from home. I have a comfy garage for it. Sounds like a sticking (or stuck) starter solenoid. If it makes contact, it will run the starter even with everything off because it is wired directly to the battery. - Brian Minkin - 09-08-2009 I like the possessed theory but I think Larry is correct. |
