Hmmm...

I'm thinking an Audi R8 v10 can undergo the same mods.  Big Grin

Cool video, especially the in-car footage.  Whoa!

Anything can be done all it take is a lot of duckies

I hear ya. Still waiting on my stimulus check. Confusedhock:

My son in-law just finished building a 4 cylinder horizontally opposed boxer air cooled motor that will probably do the same speed......... not in one mile, but in the 1/4 MILE.
.................and probably for 1/4 the budget of the Lambo.

So, what's the BIG DEAL?

yOU ARE RIGHT, with a stimulus package and the will, one can do ANYTHING!!

9 minutes and 5 seconds of wasted electricity. I just simply don't get it! Where was the great in car footage? What about the sound of the motor?  Sorry, just not impressive. Try a few miles at Bonneville on salt if you want to go in a straight line.

That's an impressive achievement for your son! What vehicle will it be powering to achieve such remarkable acceleration? Not that I'm into this kind of thing, but you have to give props to those who can pull it off without imploding their motors or taking off!

Like the salt flats, there are few visual cues that allow us to appreciate the sense of speed. I liked the end run when the quarter signs are blowing by. At that point he's nearly twice the take off speed of a typical jet.

Btw, we can cut out the middle man and you can send the check directly to me! Big Grin

Eric, please find the link to the youtube where your questions are answered. He is also working on a road racing motor based on the same billet construction. What you see is the FIRST firing of this very new motor. Dino tuning and testing is next, probably next week. If all goes well, it will make its debut after the new year on the TRACK.

That's impressive!  Keep us posted on developments as it makes the transition to a track worthy chassis.  If I understand correctly, she's currently running on alcohol.  Below is a link on another recent modification.  While an interesting technical achievement, what becomes apparent is that unbridled power alone does not make a supercar.
