I really enjoyed out "not quite summer rally" who is up for another?

I recognise that it's a team effort to put one of these on, so who else is willing to stand up and pitch in to organise another before the end of the summer? Enough people willing to stand up and be counted and we can make something happen.

what exactly is a rally????

It varies by organisation.

In our case it's a road race where cars compete to traverse checkpoints answering questions, but completing the course in the lowest number of miles. The checkpoints are fixed, but the route is not.

The SCCA has different rules, where you have fixed course and have to complete them within the speedlimit. Points are deducted for completing a stage too fast or too slow.

I've never driving in a rally, but several friends have participated in rally's with speed boats.  Their rally was a poker rally where you receive a playing card at each assigned location and the "winner" is determined by normal rally rules plus the best poker hands receive prizes.

I've seen other regions already holding poker rally's, too.

Now that sounds cool... poker for a tie-breaker.

We don't have a DE event in October so we probably have the time.

October would be a great time for a rally. We just have to get the interest of arond 20 cars.

W,

The Pocono Region has a great rally on the Saturday (10/14) of their Oktoberfest weekend.  We've done it for 4 years now.   The roads never disappoint.

Thanks for the link - do you have to register in advance, or can you do it on the day? I assume that the lodge is somewhere need Pocono raceway, is that correct? I'd love to do another rally before the end of the year and this might be the way to do it. Smile

There is a registration form (PDF) on their site.  They ask for pre-registration.   The cost is only $15 so if the the weather were to be a wash out, I'd just stay home.

Split Rock is actually the same lodge where the MAW banquet is to be held next Saturday.   About 1.5 hours from Doylestown.
