- stentech - 03-07-2007 Back to cars. I was at a tech Event and was observing a conversation between two members about a brake caliper that looked like it got much hotter than the caliper on the other side(severe heat discoloration on one caliper and not the other). The one fellow who owned the car said "it's a race car" My question is this: Is the gt3 cup car a race car or an extensively well prepared non street legal street car that is used for racing? It looks like a 911 to me. But I may be dellusional. Lets hear your opinions. - betegh9 - 03-08-2007 The GT3 is a race car in street clothing. FACTORY BUILT. Now, when you remove a bunch of stuff and add a cage, it becomes what AND HOW most guys like their women......NAKED! FAST AND FURIOUS!! Now I'll open a threadless thread so that there won't be a topic to stay on and no one can say: STAY WITH THE TOPIC.......BLAH BLAH BLAH! - Mike Andrews - 03-08-2007 Steve, If it was a GT3, then it is a street car, if it is a CUP car then it was in fact a race car. It may have lights and all but it is not able to be registered or driven (legally) on the streets. It was built by Porsche for their race series. - betegh9 - 03-08-2007 Hey Mike! What's that little smiley laughing and rolling over AT? - catchacab - 03-08-2007 Racingswh wrote: Quote:betegh9 wrote:I admit nothing. Just because it is not road legal does not mean it was designed from it's inception as a race car like a 962. The Cup car is a street car convert. - stentech - 03-08-2007 The cup car is probably the most profittable car in their line up, especially since you need to rebuild the engine as often as BFI picks up the trash. |
