Going out on a limb here. I can't seem to finalize getting a trailer before the VIR event on March 12-14

Anybody here with a trailer (open preferred) they wont be using that weekend, and might want to rent it out to a fellow RTRer?

I know Uhaul could be a last resort.

Ken,

Call TP Trailers.  800-255-0666.  They rent open car trailers.  If I remember correctly they are in Limerick.

Brian,

Called them first. They are in Limerick, which is a bit out of the way and getting/returning the trailer there would mean an extra day or two off work. Plus, they only have steel. I'm looking for a used aluminum unit, there aren't many out there.

Ken,

Good luck for your search for a used aluminum open trailer.  Like finding a pot of gold. For a rental I suspect you will have to settle for steel.  The trailers at TP  are better then Uhaul. The Uhaul trailers have the axles dead center so you will have to back the car on to the trailer with a rear engine 911.  If you do not back it on the sway is hard to handle.

I have an open trailer that I can rent out.  It is steel, but unless you are towing with a 4cyl (which I don't advise) is should be fine.

I have rented Larry's trailer sometime ago and it is in great shape, tows well.  I think I used it for a race at VIR 3 years ago.  Smile
