- DJbrand1 - 03-24-2010 Hi all. Just picked up my second 1988 944 Turbo S. First, one was totaled quite some time ago. Just picked this up from Missouri. Silver Rose with the burgundy plaid interior. Has 41k miles on the clock now after driving it back to PA. I've been to a couple DE events in the past with my fathers 996 and a couple in a Jetta I had. Looking forward to meet some other water cooled owners in the club. As for the car. Very little that needs to be done to the car. Replaced rear shocks with correct yellow Koni's, for some reason the previous owner had replaced the originals. I have given her a full tune up (filters, oil, plugs, wires, distributor cap/rotor). Put in a Vitesse chip and 3bar fuel pressure regulator. Waiting to go on this weekend is the Tial wastegate and manual boost controller. Should be ready for her first DE event after that. She's in great shape. Anyways, just wanted to say hello. Hopefully will get to meet some of you soon. Regards, Adam - George3 - 03-25-2010 Welcome.... Adam ! We look forward to seeing you at some of the upcoming DE's. Be sure to have your car Tech'd prior to the event and feel free to ask any questions here on the forum on how to prepare your car for a track event. You're sure to have a blast, as this hobby is highly addictive. Ask me how I know !!! (LOL) - asher681 - 03-27-2010 Adam, sounds great !!! Make sure the timing belts & rollers were replaced, that is the engines weak linc..... Joe - Porshagod - 03-28-2010 Silver Rose Metalic w/Burgundy plaid is one of my absolute favorite color combos! The way the Silver Rose paint looks in sunlight... beautiful! - DJbrand1 - 03-28-2010 Thanks. For those that also have the burgundy plaid interior. I found a place in Germany to order reproduction fabric that is spot on. 250 a square meter, while it is not cheap, it seems to be the only source. |
