This a new forum to allow our members to tell us how to make things better.

Tell us what RTR is doing right and where we have room for improvement.

I think it would be great if we could have a web page on our site that is a compilation of video's, track maps and perhaps a verbal hot lap for each of the tracks we attend.  It would be good for the novices to see, so that they become acquainted with the track beforehand, and as a refresher for experienced drivers...

Trackpedia is just that kind of site - track maps, turn by turn and video.

elizabeth, I like this topic because this entire offseason alot of my time has been spent studying & dissecting track videos from all over the world on the net and reading books on performance/racecar driving. Some I have been able to understand and some not. On small tracks like Summit Point, videos are few & far between. In the autoX/racing forum on Pelican Parts alot of guys post their videos. My point is youtube, google video, etc... has a ton of material. I know it would be convenient for someone to go to the website that would be most obvious, so maybe what could be done is have section in the forum that gives a list of links that someone could go to and watch videos or get in-car instruction from home. I'd even be willing to help get that up & running.

Hi Mike,

Got the driving bug, huh?   Me too, hope to see you out there  [Image: thumbup.gif]

I have spent much time pouring over track video as well, and am always on the lookout for interesting stuff  [Image: yltype.gif]  There are some around but the quality is all over the place: good driving lines but too bright/dark/shaky, nice video but driver skills lacking, too much traffic, etc...

I also think that having a page on the forum for links to video will be beneficial Smile Haven't been over to the Pelican Forum site, though I prowl Rennlist religiously, and find them to be a great source of all things Porsche, for better or worse  Wink  Ideally, what I imagine is creating our own (RTR) video, possibly a lap at 6/10ths with verbal cues followed by a hot lap or 2, driven by one of our fabulous instructors  [Image: bowdown.gif]  It could be done over the course of the year as we make our  way through the schedule, or perhaps as instructors attend events at the tracks we frequent,  they can capture a few laps to post.  Potentially it might be useful in the classroom, as well...

Links to the venues, track maps, paddock layout for newbies, and whatever else might be pertinent could be included as well.  Here's a link with a lot of video and track info:

This Forum is awesome!!!

Is there a possibility of adding a live chat to the forum?

- Wellardmac - 05-16-2007

Let me think about how that can be done. Might take some time, but I have some ideas.

Are you done yet? It's been an hour and a half!

I know how to do it. We just have to sort out some technical issues with the forum before I cen set things in motion. Smile
